Earlier this week, Seattle based company Pack Animal announced their debut on Kickstarter. They’re developing a line of travel gear and accessories for motorcycle travel. Saddlebags and tool rolls made out of the highest quality waxed twill and canvas paired with rugged leather, this stuff is built to last a lifetime.
The saddlebags attach to their custom leather mounting kit using halter snaps that clip onto d-rings. The same halter snaps make for a seamless transition from saddlebag to messenger bag with the included shoulder strap. The entire backside of the bag is shielded by a thick piece of leather that rests against the bike and protects the bag and its contents as you rack up miles. They’re large enough for a 15″ laptop and small enough that you can easily take them off your bike and carry them with you. Each saddlebag prototype has spent over 1,000 miles hanging on a bike through high speeds, high heat, rainstorms, and more and each bag continues to protect it’s contents from the elements.
Check out their Kickstarter video at the bottom of this post, and if you’re someone who likes to go places on your bike, consider supporting their first production run. Once they’ve completed funding for this project they’re going to be adding some exciting stuff to their repertoire of motorcycle luggage, so let’s help them get there!
